Lake Plastira – Thessaly Switzerland
Lake Plastira (the official name of the Tavropos ) is an artificial lake . located in the mountains of Thessaly (kardítsa district), at an altitude of 750 meters, supplying water to the Hydroelectric settlement and Tavropos of Karditsa.
The Tavropos reservoir – manmade – blue “shred” on a green canvas created by nature; the creation of man and nature, which became one of the most beautiful places in Greece, ideal for a relaxing holiday in all seasons .
Interestingly, the human intervention has not worsened the climate of the region, but rather is improved, contributing to the development of this district in all spheres of life and especially in travel .
Currently the lake Plastira with its scattered here and there, traditional villages, beautiful fjords, crystal clear water, in which more than 10 species of fish, on the right is the decoration district of Karditsa.
In addition, lake Plastira has a remarkably convenient geographical position, is situated at 325 km from the capital of Greece and 250 km from Thessaloniki.
